2216, what’s a good speaker

Hi Bodyblue, that is a lovely looking set-up, forgive my ignorance but are those speakers 6’s and are they sitting on other speakers or are they on ornate stands?

Hi Bodyblue, that is a lovely looking set-up, forgive my ignorance but are those speakers 6’s and are they sitting on other speakers or are they on ornate stands?

They are Radio Shack Realistic Optimus 6 end table speakers. They are a 3 way with 12in woofer. I got them a few weeks ago in poor condition and cleaned them up. One of them has a blown woofer but I bought them as speaker stands. They are from about 1971.

The HD and DS series of Marantz speakers are generally well regarded as they were designed by Ed May formerly of JBL. My HD-880’s sound great with my 2325 Receiver!
