Working on a KR-9340 and I am looking to recap and replace the transistors on the main amp board. I have some fears I may have smoked on of the 1161s trying to figure out how to check the bias, which still don't know how to do (separate thread on that.)
In any case are these suitable replacements? How do I get the heat sinks that suit these as it appears I will need them from what I have read elsewhere. Anything else I need to know switching from a TO-66 to a TO-220 package?
2SA653 = MJE15033 (PNP)
2SC1161 = MJE15032 (NPN)
Is there a better alternative? I guess the benefit of going TO-60 to TO-220 is enormous cost savings.
