HI, trying to figure out if the spacing between the leads of 39,000uf caps used in :
MC2105
MC2205
MC2255
MC2100

Please add any model # that uses 39,000 taht I missed in this list.

Is the same in all the cases.
I know that in MC2205 it is 1.25" between the centers of the leads.
Also MC2255 has 38,000uf cap.
I have a chance to stock on those 39,000uf caps at a good price and am wondering if I would be able to use them for all of those units that call for them without drilling any holes!

Thanks

Hello

Price do not make the quality
use original capacitors and you will not make any holes in chassis

The cap voltages are different for the 3 generations listed - 40V for the 2100 / 2105, 50V for the 2200/2205 & 60V for the 2250/2255. All require an insulated terminal collar. I believe all use the same lead spacing.

McIntosh should have replacements for all of these, but if you're looking for another "all in one" replacement - a 39,000uf cap with a voltage rating at or above 60V should work for all provided it has the correct terminal diameter / height / insulation.

Mouser sells a United-ChemiCon 39000uf, 75v electrolytic cap for $28. They are in stock. They are also NEW, not 25 yr old NOS.

It's an exact fit for my 2205. The only difference is that it is about 1/2" shorter than the original so the top is not perfectly flush with the heatsinks. The screw terminals do have the insulated spacer so they can be mounted on the steel chassis.

Out of curiosity, what is your "good price?"
