555a repair?

hi,
i posted here a while ago questioning if i should rip a 555a apart
to make a surround amp.
some may be pleased to know the amp is still intact, in fact i
have grown to like it so much i have disbanded the surround project and got a turntable instead
at times i am amazed at how nice it sounds, though at others it sounds, well, flat. so the research began, and now i have learnt more about amp circuits than i possibly wanted.
anyway, enough of my ranting, i do have a question,
the dc offset on this thing is exactly 340mv on both channels
all info i have read suggests this is bad. or am i looking for a fault that dosn't exist?

Wow! No replies? I don't often visit this thread, but if for some reason you think it sounds good now, get rid of the DC offset and you'll finally hear what you are supposed to be hearing.

340mV is a shitload of offset.
