the subject indicates I've developed an interest in Sansui. recently bought a 661 Receiver off ebay for £28 and liked it a lot. Smoothness brought a smile to my face. But, there was too little detail - singers breathing, etc - to make me want to replace my Edison 60 kit valve amp.
Now I'm bidding on a 9090 - god knows what the final price might be. HAve also a chance to buy a 6060, LM330, SR525 combo for £80 on Saturday. what I'd like to ask is whether anyone knows about this last little lot.
I don't need megawatts. That aid, would the 6060 rival the 9090 in sound quality but without the oomph? I'm into musicality more than power.
