Starting to open some of my '60s SS Sony gear to restore, the little transistors have gold leads (not plated, putty-soft gold). Is this just a Sony thing or was it common? I do see some of the flying-saucer transistors with gold leads in other equipment (EX: McIntosh) but I've not noticed any of the more common packages like the TO-92.
