9090DB setting bias didn't go so well

Thanks guys for kicking this can (me) down the road to recovery for this Sansui. Learned a bunch and did some reengineering so maybe this one will earn a full recap some day. Spiney only wanted a few of them changed, probably just the tuner ps ones that looked overheated and in poor health but I did a few others that were easily accessed, the VD1212s, the fusible resistors and got the bias and offset done. Reseated the power transistors and heatsink. too. Along with a few lamps this one is flashing red and switching to solid green, now that the 1500Ω resistor has been replaced.

I did a full recap of my 9090DB a few years back, also had fun with some schematic errors. Glad to hear you got things sorted out and also learned along the way. The group here was also very helpful for me when I was going through the process. I'm glad to say my unit is still up and running strong. It's nice to just turn it on an enjoy it.

A variac is now part of my repair bench for working on old audio equipment.
