So I built little music server for my 14 year old daughter, she mainly listen to spotify, but I was hoping that she will take an interest in something that sounds a little better.

So here is how it specs out:

UpBoard (Quad Core Atom) x86 based with 2Gb Ram and 32 SSD built on the board
External USB DAC
Bluetooth seperate input for streaming Spotify
1Gb HD for storing the FLAC Files
Mounted to a Cheapo AudioSource 50 watt amp I already owned
and MINI Pod Speakers

I decided that I wanted it bare for that semi industrial look, I will have a glass cover made later for protection.

But the UpBoard is Running Daphile (daphile.com) software, storing the files on the 1Tb HD and outputting the FLAC files to the DAC in the center of the server.

It also has a Bluetooth input completely separate for streaming.

All works well, I have to clean up that one wire that powers the BT Module, the UpBoard is HardWired to the Network.

Very nice. Super mini is "in" and very functional as music servers. There is some cool Raspberry Pi stuff, the UpBoard... I was running Linux and JRiver on a Kangaroo for a while, and even had the same Daphile loaded on it at one point. Great work for your girl!
