I entrusted this awesome piece of vintage gear to Tim because after a few conversations with him, I knew he would make it run better than factory fresh and would cosmetically restore it too! This unit had two big filter caps that were leaking, but Tim replaced all of them, and so much more! Protection board, stabilizer, equalizer, power supply, tone amp, control amp, relays, switches, this was a very careful, thorough, expert RESTORATION! The unit was cleaned and polished inside and out, wood was repaired as needed and restained, metal grill repainted, when I say this was a complete job, I mean this was a complete job! Tim is an awesome guy, and if you have any question about who to have working on your vintage Pioneer, I wholeheartedly 5* endorse Tim. On top of the quality of his work, his price is very reasonable. Tim is the man!
The receiver sounds amazing, very powerful, and spacious. I find that recordings sound new as instruments pop up which I had not heard in previous listening sessions. It's a brute, it's a beaut, many thanks Tim!

Very nice work! Personally I think I would have gone with the traditional warm white dial bulbs but that's just me. Fantastic job and trust me it's a lot of work!

Great resto, its good when you have an experience like that.
I dont like the blue LED look, I use warm white when I do my restos, to me it looks more natural...but thats just a personal thing...

I can see going that way, but I like this look and low maintenance better matches my style and technical abilities!

I should have worded it differently. I will do whatever the client wants, I always use LED regardless as the technology is a lot better now than it was a few years ago, they're plug in replacements no rewiring necessary, not like 10 years ago....drop 'em straight in. Run cooler, no heat damage, better contrast.
LED is so good now you can virtually do anything, so whatever the preference is I'll run with it...

No reason to back off. It is what it is.
I will try the LED's and decide if I like the look. Now it's easy to go backwards if need be.
Using them for the function lamps anymore is almost a no brainer.

Boy I love reading these uplifting experiences!...this is a great community. Keep up the good work!...
