About time and good timing

I to am glad to see this new forum surface. I purchased a new amplifier, as seen in my avatar, in October and felt that it would not be appropriate to "share" my thoughts on it in the other forums. Maybe it's just me being paranoid.
I also am currently using a newer dvd player as my main cdp. But again felt like a minority. I am prone to agree that cd player technology has improved significantly over the last 10 years or so. And I feel that dvd players can be a wonderful alternative to a cdp. I know there are other members that use dvd players as well for cd playback.
As with all of you I love my vintage gear but have had the itch to try newer stuff in the past year. You might say curiosity has got the best of me. Not just any new stuff. I have to feel that I am getting a decent piece of equipment in order to dish out the hard earned cash.
