Aces just lost to a pair of 9’s! $14,000.00 please!!!

This pair of Marantz model 9 amps just sold for $14,000.00 on eBay. Item number: 180057943707

I am new to Marantz, and I got to say, you guys really got me scratching my head.

A couple of weeks ago, I couldn’t figure out why people were buying 10b’s @ $2,500.00 a pop. But now, thanks to the folks on this forum, I think I understand a little better. Now, I ask the same question about the 9’s. What’s the deal here? Please explain. Just for fun, I’m adding a little poll.

Because they're somewhat rare, because they're old, original Marantz, and because for $14k, some people have more money than brains. :twak:

I voted for listen to music, but that would only be until I sold them, then used the cash to buy a blueberry, pcats, a new TT, and a whole bunch of vinyl.
