Advent "1" what year released?

Are Advent "1" any good as far as speakers go?

What year did they come out?

I have seen many different version of the "1" ON THE WEB.

What would be a top dollar price to pay for a pair in good condition.

The pair I am looking at looks like the picture.

I have a vinyl covered 1. Did not know a veneered version was made, if that's what those are. Mine have identical drivers as NLA's (New Large Advents) that I have. Smaller cabinet and crossover appears to be non adjustable tweeter volume, where NLA's are. Guessing made in early 80's. Likely a little less bass with a 1. A more economical version. There is an Advent sticky thread (red thumbtack) in Speakers Referance.
For your own use, working in great condition, recent refoam, I would not pay over $120, IMO. NLA's are better model. And the three position tweeter switch on NLA's is useful.

I was thinking the original issue Advent loudspeaker.

I have found the ones I am looking at are the Advent /1. What the difference is I don't know. They appear to be solid wood buy I could be wrong.

Advent /1's are essentially 8ohm Smaller Advents, made from 78 - 83 according to the Identifying your Advents thread
