Advice on PL-100 turntable

Looking for advice concerning general maintenance on
my Pioneer PL-100 turntable. It is working great, but since it is
25 years old probably needs a tune up. It has seen several new belts
but could someone please give me some advice about cleaning and
lubrication?

If I remember, that is a very straightforward manual belt drive, right? Not much to do on that TT, really. I would think that a drop of light oil on the main platter bearing would about do it.

Have a look and see if the rubber on the motor mounts is still supple. Then put your feet up and play a record to celebrate!

cheers,

Thank you Frank, it's actually semi-auto. But your right pretty straightforward.
I was thinking just a drop of oil on the platter bearing was all it needed but
never worked on TT's other than change the belt. Billy G.

I took a closer look at the original owners manual for my vintage Pioneer PL-100
and it states, " lubrication of the motor shaft and tone arm bearings is not
neccessary." Perma-lube, cool! It has given me great performance over the
years aside from the occassional new belt and it was only around $125.00
when I bought it new. I would recommend this table ( a great backup?) if
one is found cheap and in good condition. Thanks, Billy G.
