Harry Chapin, Greatest stories live.

Tonio K, Life in the food chain.

I'm sure there are heaps of these but my picks from what I've listened to would be

Pink Floyd - DSOTM, Wish You Were Here, Animals
Daft Punk - Random Access Memories
Dire Straits - Dire Straits, Love Over Gold, Brothers in Arms
AC/DC - Back in Black, Highway to Hell

Problem is I go through a lot more greatest hits albums than I do individual albums so I can't contribute as much to this as I'd like to :\

Seriously, thousands of jazz albums qualify. Not so many rock, pop, country etc. I'm not sure why but I believe this. I like rock, pop and country BTW.

Double albums, eh? What a great idea... Do double live albums count?

If so, then..........

Bob Seger - Live Bullet

This question comes up a lot on AK and I don't know how consistent I am when I answer. But for anyone that hasn't heard Physical Graffiti by Led Zeppelin you should go to your local library and check it out. I think it is the best rock album ever made, not a bad song on it, and a huge mix of styles and influences.

A massive +1 on LZ PG from me!!!! Phenomenal album. Maybe one of the albums I listened to in its entirely the most, which is a big deal for a double LP.

Was just reminded of another one and am listening to it now - The Allman Brothers, Live at the Fillmore East

and what about Grateful Dead, American Beauty? (I know, a GD studio album... but I think it's good!)

Muddy Waters - Hard Again
Ben Harper and Charlie Musselwhite - Get up!
AC-DC - Back in Black
Buddy Guy - Hold that Plane!
Concrete Blonde – Walking In London
Creedence Clearwater Revival - The Concert
David Bowie – ChangesOneBowie
Dr. John – Dr. John's Gumbo
Ellis Marsalis - Joe Cool's Blues
The Mothers (Frank Zappa) - Fillmore East, June 1971
John Lee Hooker - Get Back Home in the USA
Jackson Browne – Running On Empty
MIles Davis - Kind of Blue
Paul Simon - Graceland
John Mayall – Wake Up Call
Snooks Eaglin – Complete Imperial Recordings

And on and on.....so many albums where most songs are crap but so many albums where they all shine. To me, anyway.

But then you lose out on hearing those good songs!

Steve Vai - Passion and Warfare
Joe Satriani - The Extremist
Van Halen - all until Dave left (been a fan since the 1st album was released)
Boston - Boston
Beatles - Abbey Road, Revolver, Rubber Soul
Billy Joel - 52nd St, The Stranger
Blues Traveler - Four
C.S.N.Y. - Deja` Vu
David Lee Roth - A Little Ain't Enough, Eat 'Em and Smile, Skyscraper
Eric Clapton - 461 Ocean Blvd., Behind The Sun, Pilgrim
George Harrison - Cloud Nine
Living Colour - Vivid, Time's Up
Scorpions - Blackout

So many more to list, but this paints a stilted picture because I am actually also a fan of jazz guitar, piano, some old country, big band, and other genres.
If it sounds good to me, it sounds good, no matter what genre it is!
Best-ofs and Greatest Hits are my friend :)

Living Colour's first two albums were masterpieces. Glad you put them in there. And the last track off Time's Up "This Is The Life" ...well....I cannot make it thru that song without getting a little choked up. It is THAT good.

Those of you bothering to read these posts should check that tune out. Incredible song from a band at their peak.
