Glad you posted this as I was unfamiliar. I dig it!
Cool, glad you like it. Definitely pushing towards the "outside," but an interesting (odd) but beautiful take on "Sophisticated Lady." Also the opening cut is a G blues that explores new possibilities over a very well-worn path.
I find Shepp, like Braxton, to have a somewhat uneven output, but that all depends on how outside you're willing to go. I do have a line I don't like to cross too often, even with favorites like Trane, Dolphy, and Pharoah Sanders...
