Another Installment of Moonshine Bandits. Haters Are Going To Hate

Girls in shorts, rolling in mud. Now know I why you are enthralled. And I thought it was all about SQ with you.

Not blurring... attempting to blend, then absorb. Describing their success, they are getting 'rich' doing it. And striking a chord with a lot of people might make for a mixed and unexpected reaction for arm chair activists... don't expect their fans to be antifa demonstrators.. they're be tearing the mask off those people and rearranging their features. A label called Suburban Noise is a very predictable name... like Death Row Records.. same business gaming on the other side of the street... nothing independent. I wouldn't have posted on this thread at all but you baited it with social commentary of your own... Haters going to Hate... then link to alcohol fueled hate filled anger inspiring music void of social redeeming factors... providing a platform for virtual signaling against anyone who suggests it is offensive. As far as music is concerned, describing it as offensive is in no way suggesting it should be banned, even uncalled for ridiculed... I don't like Arthur Fiedler either and in the right context could say I find his arrangements offensive, but wouldn't say that unasked to one who likes him. You basically asked for an opinion about the link you posted with the commentary... haters going to hate, daring a response... an example of being passive aggressive. Mister P... you do know that at the end of Orwell's brilliant book after the farmer had been eliminated it was the pigs in the farm house cheating each other at cards while the other animals quietly stared through the window in mute disbelief.

First of all Death Row Records while successful, is not "big". Big is Columbia, Sony, Warner Bros, and so on. Being able to having some staying power in a competitive and difficult market does not make a small label like DRR anything but resourceful and determined.

Now if you look at the discography of Moonshine Bandits, this is a group that looks to be determined in their own right. Each album is released on a different label, starting with JLM Entertainment, IMN Records, and MSB Entertainment. Actually it looks like they only did one release with Suburban Noize Records, and have released their last three albums with Backroad Records. Now Backroad Records is part of Average Joe Entertainment, which lists 5 artists/bands it represents. I think that qualifies as small, and I will take a stab and say I doubt they are getting rich. Of course I got no proof of that, but its not much of a stretch to form that opinion. It looks like it strikes a cord with quite a few listeners though, as on the CMT chart the last three albums have peaked at 22, 13, and 19. Now one can argue that popularity does not equate to quality, and this music is certainly not technically challenging, its entertainment at best. But others do seem to find value in it, of some sort. Of course it does not appeal to everyone. And the intriguing part is that it gets dismissed by real country people because its rap, the rockers dont like it because its country or rap, and rappers see it as hick hop. Yet with everyone hating it, how does it climb the CMT chart, and two of the albums peaked at 10 and 11 on the rap chart, and the Billboard Heatseakers list had them at 3,2, and 1. A lot of interest in them for making music that everyone dismisses. Go figure. And yet they also shot a video with David Allen Coe, who doesnt have to do music with anyone he doesnt want to. And the Lacs shot one video with Montgomery Gentry, so not even established musicians hate this kind of music

No social commentary? Oh if you look its there. Alcohol fueled? Sure its there, just like its in rock and roll, rap, pop, country, and a whole bunch of other music. Hell i got sea shanty music about booze. I don't see it being a problem.

Besides, everyone knows that Animal Farm was funded by the National Coalition of the Betterment of Chickens. Character assassination has been a long standing tactic against the swine society. It is nothing we have not seen before.

G! Music has to be fun too. Sometimes its all about the SQ, and sometimes its about good times. Thats the beauty of the JBL 4365, as I can do both. Detailed and refined with jazz and acoustic instruments. Yet when I want the 15's hitting and the bass thumping, I can do that too.

It aint all about one thing down here on the farm. We gots to play 2 times dawg.

Peace

I didn't say the music didn't have social commentary... I said you laced it into the thread title with haters going to hate, anyone having anything 'negative' to say is a 'hater'... as though having any semblance of standards is equivalent to hating, putting them on the defensive, when in fact that music represents the essence of free floating, generalized hate and the purveyors are seeking to capitalize on it. Capitalize... a nice Marxist term invented by Marx himself, who.. and this is essential in Orwell's book... Marxists are capitalist of the worst kind.. not an irony, but a bit of understanding born on knowledge of the subject, historically demonstrated. And, what will be your parting shot... the victim virtual signaling behind a curtain of humor claiming character assassination... that is aimed at those who have not read the book... Animal Farm.. which you just labeled as a bit of character assignation.

I know a guy who built a 4.6L supercharged engine for his 04 Cobra in his kitchen (pics over on svtperformance.com / terminator forum/several years ago.) By no means was the house a dump, he's a dentist. The wife refused to park her car in the driveway instead of the garage for several weeks, so..........

Sorry don't see the music representing authentic and true hate, not like we have seen happen over this last year at Charleston. But that starts to skirt politics.

But if we are going to talk Marx, then why not, as Marx was in essence a historian. And Das Kapital is really an indepth and critical look at the inherent flaws or limitations of capitalism as a socio-economic system. Now many elements of that analysis seems to be playing out, with a shrinking of the middle/professional class, the concentration of wealth, the conept of surplus value, and that the economic system cannot endlessly cycle through levels of unending profit.

Now Marx felt that socialism would be a natural progression stemming from the evolution and unstabiity of the capitalist framework, and that the end result would be true communism. Eventually. But this is his own personal vision, and not an analysis of fact like Das Kapital was based on. But even within his framework, capitalism had a place. The revolutionaries of Lenin, Mao, and Castro chose to force ahead the development, and move from an economically disadvantaged agrarian society into socialism/communism as a way to find a level of freedom for their countries from the first world capitalist leaders of North America and Europe. The Chinese saw it as a tool to get from under the control of the British Empire. Cubans the exploitation of American businessmen. This is not how Marx envisioned history unfolding, and their lack of success can perhaps be tied to that.

Or perhaps the intent was never to establish a true communist society. As the peoples of North America and Europe classify these societies, they would say these are or were totalitarian governments. That communism cannot exist due to human nature. Although certain European countries are closer to socialism than many people are willing to acknowledge.

But as far as Animal Farm is concerned, it is indeed a work of pig slander. Notice how often it gets brought up, and the pigs talked badly about. Yet no one mentions Watership Down as a political construct, and the evil nature of bunnies. The chickens have no quarrel with bunnies, and so leave them alone. Pig slander has been a long occurring tragedy, and the Porkanista Revolution will continue to fight the good fight on behalf of pigs across the world. One day pigs will be recognized for their meaningful contributions to society, and their inherent goodliness.

Really? It's looks like the streaky bacon I have in my fridge. I just grabbed an image. Probably for the best anyway...

Talking blues as a country style pre-dated rap. Woodie Guthrie, as far back as 1947, was a high profile 'tactician' with that style. Colt Ford is a throwback to that. (it don't mean I like it) Some, now refer to it as Hick-hop. No offense to our porcine friends.

You know, I remember when the country music world turned their backs on long haired southern rock. If you had long hair and traveled I-10 you were bound to get locked up. Who knows where this could actually go because no one thought rap would last very long.

That kinda ties in with my earlier post. It's like the canary in the coal mine. If the bubbas are getting involved it's over. They've basically weaponized cultural appropriation and rap itself will be the victim. IMHO.

Doesn't seem to have hurt SEC football, NASCAR, or hunting. Just a saying....

Either that or if country boys are interested it has gone mainstream and look who just won the music awards in the rap category.....Eniem a white boy from Detroit.

No, you don’t see the see the music as representing authentic and true hate… that is reserved for those who express dissenting views of the music.

Marx is not in essence a historian, he is a revisionist, created operative terms to control the language, which controls the narrative, predicted the future based on the implementation of that narrative making himself a prophet, followed and revered by the greatest mass murderers of history. You provide the narrative referring to Lenin… The Great One.., Mao, Castro who ‘chose’ to ‘force’ ahead the ‘development’ of an economically disadvantaged agrarian society into socialism/communism as a way to ‘find’ a new ‘level of freedom’ for their countries from the first world ‘capitalist’ leaders of North American and Europe… etc…. leaving out the prosperity brought by the one and the systematic purges and organized killing machine of the other…. The black book that pigs hate… fifty million here, thirty million there, ten million over there, anybody who could read or write there.. a clean slate upon which to write.. breaking eggs for the omelette, that new level of freedom where the parasite is free to devour the host..

So... as far as Animal Farm is concerned, it puts the whole concept and all its machinations within easy reach of the casual reader making incandescently clear against common sense observations of everyday life the process that seeks to undermine the hopes and aspirations of freedom loving people everywhere. Stalin banned it outright… pigs revile it, hold it in utter contempt. Ignorance is its own excuse but willful deception makes for itself a place on the landscape of humanity at the expense of all… the hypocrite practicing hypocrisy makes an enemy of truth… reviling that which effectively lifts the mask. Anybody here… it’s a short, easy to read classic that will provide instant perspective... do yourself a favor... Animal Farm… not slander, brings light to what breeds chaos… pigs know it well and hate it.

Regards to everyone...

This is great, too bad most people can’t understand dissension and how people stand up against financial oppression. People that don’t like this music can’t understand because they are a carbon copy of everyone else that looks just like them. Corporations cheated country people out of their farms which inspires country outlaw music. Music like this is a non violent form of protest against social and economic oppressive control.....

Oh Lord, not the poor farmers lament again. I know farmers that are not a corporation that are very successful. No one has cheated them out of anything. Many farmers were just bad at managing money. Please move on, nothing to see here.

As for dissension, there are more creative ways to display it, than a country/rap mashup.

Assumptions are not facts....

In the late seventies corporations got into the distribution of products, buying from producers and selling wholesale to retailers. Wholesale prices of agricultural products were increased to stimulate investment by agricultural producers in which farmers took out loans on farm equipment to increase the amount of crops cultivated each season. Wholesale prices were lowered leaving farmers with outstanding loans which caused foreclosures. Common sense would make a person ask why so many foreclosures at the same time??? Then to top it off so many of the foreclosures were bought up by the same corporation. Business people always pacify consumers, just look how people eat food that has been sprayed with toxic chemicals as if it’s normal.

I assumed nothing. Yes, many farmers were bad at making financial decisions and over extended themselves. So the corp was bad for buying land a good price?
