Any JVC cassette is considered as topline?

So here is the ads I've seen:

"Cassette Tape Dubbing / Recording $10

I have a JVC HiFi cassette deck in good condition. I use it to record audio tapes all the time. It gives great sound quality. I can dub your band's music onto tapes. All I require is a donation for my time. You can either supply the tapes, or provide me with the money so I can supply my own."

For $10 a piece and the travel to his home or the postage to his address, I would expect a Tandberg 3014 or better. Or at least a Pioneer F1000. But I am not aware of any JVC cassette deck that ... worth $10 each recording.

Did I miss something?

While not of Nakamichi Dragon quality, JVC did make some decent decks in its day. Check out the TD-V621, TD-V662 and TD-V711 as examples.

I think the seller is probably referring to a JVC HiFi VCR. Using those to record audio-only was a thing back in the day--may still be.

EDIT: Hmm, re-reading the seller's ad, maybe he does mean an actual cassette deck. I am sure there were some high quality JVC units made at some point.
