I was just curious....I have a real nice SA 8500 that I use a the preamp in my main system. The 8500 is a very feature rich piece and has so far really met all of my expectations. Anyone else out there doing something simular??? :scratch2:

My general hifi setup is:
- a vintage (SS) integrated amplifier (or receiver) as control unit/preamp; output signal from headphone jack
- a small tube amplifier as next stage
- a modern SS power amp to control the large speakers.

Sound is very satisfactory. I can not stand modern sound quality - is terrible.

Not yet, but I may very well end up using my SA 8500 as a pre-amp when I get my Threshold 400a up and running again.

Velkommen til AudioKarma, Kjell-B!

sure have nebfan

I've used Luxman L-410, Sansui AU-11000, and Kenwood KA-9150 before I had my first dedicated pre-amp.

I sometimes throw a SA-7500II in the mix of the Patio system for BBQ's and Yard party's.
It helps to have the extra plug in's.
If it would fit my living room rack I would take out the EQ.

yep,
i have my SA-7100 as pre for the Sonic T-Amp/TDS202 combo. i have a TT, DVD\CD, and VCR all in line, works and sounds great.

I use my SA-7500 as a pre for my 9 watt tube amp driving a pair of '63 Wharfedale M70's. I like the flexability and sound.
