anyone mix and match pioneer with yamaha
I haven't had the chance to test this out. I like the power and smoothness of Pioneer gear, but I also like the detail of Yamaha gear.
Here's my dilema. I have a cr-1020 that the wife really likes in the living room with a pair of castle pembrokes (decent speaker). I have my pioneer gear in my "listening room" (sa-8500II sa-9500 on it's way home soon), driving a pair of MG2As. I have a chance to pick-up a Yamaha M-4 and am considering having my Pioneer SA-8500II as a pre for this amp and also so I can swap out speakers if I want.
Thoughts of the Yammie Pioneer combo? Should I just keep the CR-1020 downstairs with the new amp?
