Anyone tried the Dayton Audio Dta-1

Huh? :scratch2:
I have lots of extra speakers, including "boombox" speakers. Speakers seem to outlast electronics/hardware. Here's the link for the Dayton DTA-1. The plan is to connect Ipod or any mp3 player and utilize the many extra speakers laying around.

Main concerns/questions are:
How long will 8 AA batteries power the unit?
Would I need to be careful about specs of speakers I attach?
Would the unit be more powerful than a medium sized boombox?

Seems I can never find battery powered boomboxes with RCA inputs at thrifts or new and the Dayton DTA-1 is only ~$40.

Thanks in advance,
Roger

It looks like a Sonic impact T-Amp, and if thats what it is, you'll be happily impressed. Sonic Impact changed their design and raised their price. I have a few that I've used with Ipods. They're pretty damn good sounding.
