Anyone tried the "new" Rat Shack 15-band EQ?

AudioGeek

too hip to function
Just noticed it around somewhere, (RS part # 32-2059) and thought it might be useful for my secondary system. One good feature is that it has XLR and 1/4" in-out as well as unbalanced RCA's, so it can fit into almost any set-up, also has variable output levels for each channel with 4 LED's per for output monitoring, (-3dB to +10dB) so you can set it for unity gain. And 2/3 octave (15-band) gives you a bit more control than the standard 10-band.

Downside is I don't like the infra-sonic filter freq/slope: 100Hz @ 6dB/oct. Looks like it was designed mostly for PA use. Also the sliders are short-throw. What the h*ll is so hard about including a decent low-filter on a frickin' audio component!? :lazer:

I'm not interested in going with a large 1/3 band or parametric right now. Just wondered if anyone has had the chance to listen to and use this model and what they think of it? For a 100 bucks, what the heck!
