Hello, AK collective mind! I've got a couple of units on the bench that use 17mm dual 50K audio taper pots for volume controls, both of which suffer from channel imbalance in the very low-volume range of rotation. I think Bourns PDB18 series would be drop-in replacements, but I'm not sure whether to expect tracking to be that much better. Units' owner has expressed interest in upgrading the pots.
So, any reviews of the Bourns, or any thoughts on superior parts?
I would be reluctant to use anything that couldn't be fit in the existing space, which I think might rule out some options like ALPS Blue Velvets (or do they come smaller than the RK27 series?).
A 6mm knurled shaft would be perfect, but I feel a little more comfortable about hacking shaft-knob fit than hacking the basic mounting.
