Arc - VT 100 MK II

Dear Members

I think i have a possibiliites to buy a Audio Research VT100 MK II, i'am not shure…
then this machine are approximately 20 or more Years old, it's this a Occasion to
buy, or just let it be, because this device has come into it's age.

if i will buy this i think a recap are required….. are the caps expensiv?
and the tubes are these still available?, exist other points that are still to be considered.
possible that has parts that are today not available?

I think about the old age…. this amp amp is still playing open and wide, or does it now
sound like a old tube radio?

any one here has this amp running here? or are this to far away
please, can you Little help me About decission?

Thats a nice amp. It was produced from 1996 - 2006. I would say that if the price is right it is time to buy.. now.
Personally, I doubt it needs to be recapped, but you can always have it checked out by a tech to be sure.
Parts are readily available.
It uses 8 6550's and 8 6922's for tubes.
As far as price to repair goes, that depends on a lot of things. Tube selection covers a big range, and again, no reason to replace them unless they are weak. Something a good tech can tell you.
This is a quality amp.
