Are russian pio capacitors metal body's charged?

I would put heat shrink around them though if you're stuffing them into close quarters. The K40Y I do not believe are insulated, so laying one against something may well cause a short. The painted ones are insulated only by the paint, so extra insulation wouldn't be a terrible idea there either.

None that I have are connected to either lead.
You can check for yourself with an ohmeter.
A little heat shrinkable tubing never hurts.

... and they're purtier that way ... ;-}

I put some on one of those board and used shrink tubing. I didn't like having the metal housing of the caps so close to soldering points. Not as pretty as yours though sKiZ. :thumbsup:

I usually ground the body on small signal coupling. The solder takes on the K40.

Else like Skizo but not as nice, I shrink wrap them.

I am recapping a preamp with k40s right now and there are 2 spots where the caps are a tight fit. If a cap is touching the chassis but nothing else would that pose a problem?
