AU 9900 Strange Capacitors

Hi.
Can someone tell me what function those strange capacitors that are in the AU 9900 that I just bought?
Thank you.

Sorry for my English.20180510_194636.jpg 20180503_141545.jpg

Looks like someone added some extra local filtering capacitance, ugly and unnecessary, oh and they've changed the main PSU rectifiers as well - strange looking replacements too.

I assume the main filter capacitors are still there  - you don't show a topside view.

Welcome to AK! - and especially to the Exclusively Sansui forum. ;)

Your English is fine.

Nice unit!! Welcome to AK
Yeah, maybe the Power filter caps where leaking so previous owner just put 4 new and smaller ones.
It looks like a muppet's work, on a pretty cool unit. I hate when hot glue is used to attach caps.

Showing the meter and the nice pics is great language bridge. We all speak pictures.

Great first couple posts.

Yep, some damn muppet has been in there "making things better"......get rid of all that and put it back to factory spec.

I do not know how to make it original again, and I do not know what function those capacitors do there.
My knowledge only allowed me to adjust Bias and offset. :(

Those 4 non-original capacitors are 330v 200uF each and I do not know what function they fulfill

They are supposed to be what is described as 'local filtering' - that is, to smooth out the surges of current demanded the OP transistors when reproducing music. They probably aren't doing very much, 200µF is too small (even x4), and 330V is an insanely high voltage rating for such a position.

Original Caps Chemicon 6800uF: (45 years old)
1.-6180
2.-6295
3.-6485
4.-6347

Hipocrates : Thank you very much for the advice. No more "strange caps" (bypass).
Thanks Audiokarma !
