awaiting Skala

Oh well, my wife broke my Dorian, bounce, bounce, ziiiiiippppp. So Christmas comes early. I am moving up the Lyra line to the Skala. I do like Lyra's trade in policy.

I got to hear it at the dealers with a Ear discmaster turntable. It sounded so good it made me laugh. It will be interesting to see what the Linn does with it.

The dealer had one in stock but alas will not have it back to Saturday. He let me borrow a really nice SACD/CD player.

After having the Dorian for a while can't imagine what the Skala will be like.

LP12 and Skala.

The biggest complaint on my system about the Dorian is for me the midrange to the treble was really good. The bass wasn't there in a way that was even with the energy of the midrange to treble. nothing to cry about, in fact if my wife hadn't broke it I would have been quite happy.

With the Skala the evenness of the energy is equally distributed on my system. I guess the term is tight tuneful bass. :D

10 hours or less on the cartridge. So I am really curious to see what happens as it "ages".
