I have been looking for a good tripod, read ; sturdy and built like a brick outhouse. I've had those light wieght aluminum styles that go for like 25-50 bucks, with plastic knobs and clamps, but they seem to be prone to breakage at the least opportune time, like when in-laws are getting their wedding pics taken
anyway, I have been purusing the thrifts and finding as usual broken and none functional units. But today was different, I found a sweet perfectly working Tilt-all 4602 72" tripod. It is all aluminum, but ultra heavy weight, with what looks to be machined alluminum lock downs and knobs. And the best part, convertable tips that are rubber then twist to reveal spikes. Very good, it would be strong enough for a 8X10 large format camera.
They are going for 50-90 bucks on the Bay, though in reality, a good heavy tripod is worth way more than that. I picked this puppy up for 7.99. I was grinnin' all the way home.
