B&W DM2's ???

Hi everyone. Purchased a pair of B&W speakers from a local thrift store. No labels, just the B&W grill logo. After extensive googling, they are similar to the DM2's, except for the additional adjustment knob. I have attached pictures. I had them hooked up and surprisingly, they still sound good, very much like my AR 3a's. Any info will be very much appreciated. Thanks and all the best.

Conjecture, but since those those level controls have no knobs, could be they were meant to be adjusted once and left alone. With a minimized possibility that they could get "accidentally" knocked out of position.

I also don't think a fuse was present on domestic B&W speakers. The fact that they're on the front not the back means that they can be changed quickly.

I would say those speakers are a variant of sorts intended for studio playback monitoring. Since it could get loud in one, I can see the need to have a fuse and that it be front and center for easy access.

Thanks 62vauxhall for your conjecture. My wife and I liked the sound so much they will displace our Paradigm Studio 40's.

Thought of replacing capacitors out of curiosity and opened them up, piece of cake. After pulling out the crossover on one speaker, the capacitors were glued to the base. These are beyond my tweeking capacity so why fix it if ain't broke. I'll just enjoy them for as long as they last. Pictures attached.

Those look like poly caps and I remember reading that B&W used these in this era. I think leaving well enough alone is a sensible choice, enjoy your speakers.

Just got a reply from B&W and they say these are DM-2A's. I'm still quite puzzled as the 2A's only had one knob. Mine has 2 knobs. The more I listen to them, the more they sound better to me. Happy camper here.
