Thanks S. Funny the Eico AF4 was consider by Eico, almost, hi-fi. Hence the (AF).

I suppose most they figured if you're doing single-ended, what's the point of doing UL? You're going to have less power and higher distortion than even a regular push-pull output stage would make, so why bother?
