Basement Window Advice

My cave is down in the basement and I have blinds that cover the windows but would like to put in some black out material and something that would help block the sound from going outside between the windows and blinds! Acoustical material any thoughts or advice?

You could put those foam sound panel things there.

In my basement bathroom, I cut a piece of insulation to fit the window. I then wrapped it in a plastic bag so it would never get soggy.

Unless you open the blinds what you put behind them may not make much difference since closed blinds are just going to reflect mid and high frequency content back into the room anyway.....and you'll likely not have enough absorption in that one spot to have much effect on low frequencies. If you open the blinds an OC 703 panel wrapped in an acoustically transparent fabric would be my recommendation.
