Hi - First time posting here. Firstly I would like to thank JohnVF for his VERY helpful posts here.
I just got myself the original version of Berkeley Alpha and am shocked by its definition and resolution. But also I am a bit puzzled by the hard edge on the sound. I have played a lot of songs for the past several days but it's still that way. I have used it both as a DAC/Pre and a stand alone DAC with an integrated amp (Creek Destiny) which sounds warm and natural with Cary Xciter DAC. I have only used the single ended RCA connection.
What could be the reason? Would using XLR help?
Many thanks in advance.
