Best Resistors To Order?

Love Vintage

I have been using various brands and types of resistors and would like to start buying extras when I place orders. In reading through Audiokarma and have noticed members using Vishay resistors, are series CCF50, CCF60, & CCF07 the ones I should be looking at to start a small inventory? Or are there others to look at?
Thanks
Terry

As a general purpose resistor, I don't see anything wrong with the CCF series, I use the MFR series, slightly better temp coefficient,
happy if someone points out the error I'm making. Specific resistors are needed for flameproof and fusible applications,,,

Is the MFR series a Vishay product I can’t seem to find it?

Here is a comparison chart I built myself to help select the best resistors for each application:

Metal Film Resistor Choices

Vishay

CMF: very low noise, 2% precision, 250 mW

RN/RL: very low noise, 1% precision, 250 Mw

SFR – standard metal film resistors

5073 or “PRO” series – metal film resistors for power handling

CMF – industrial metal film resistors – precision, flame retardant

RN and RL (Military CMF) - industrial metal film resistors – precision, flame retardant

CCF – industrial metal film resistors – power, flameproof

CPF – industrial metal film resistors – power, precision, flameproof

PTF – high precision metal film resistors

Xicon
270-271-273 MF-RC metal film series

Price comparison
1K resistor lowest wattage & price at or above 250mW in each series
· Vishay CCF 250mW $0.10 or $0.04/100

· Vishay SFR 250mW $0.10 or $0.04/100 (low end standard)

· Vishay RN 250mW $0.13 or $0.11/100 (mil-grade low noise, precision industrial)

· Vishay CMF 500mW $0.14 or $0.11/100 (standard-grade, low noise, precision industrial)

· Xicon MF-RC 250mW $0.17

· Vishay PRO 2W $0.34 or $0.19/100 (higher power but standard grade)

· Vishay CPF 1W $0.49 or $0.28/100 (high power flameproof)

· Vishay PPF 1W $0.49 or $0.40/100 (higher power precision)

· Vishay PTF 250mW $1.83 or $1.41/100 (high precision)

When I build my inventory, I choose CMF in 100 piece quantities. They are low noise and most all of what I do is audio path.

When I'm buying 1-2 each, I get either RN of CMF... again because I'm mostly dealing with audio path.

For applications where required wattage is 2 or more watts, I use CPF.

Wow great information, seems like you guys prefer Vishay to Yageo, is there a reason in particular?
