I normally use the USPS for international shipping, but getting quotes of 250 to $300 to ship a tuner to the UAE for a fellow AK member. This is using the smallest box possible. If I were to pack it like I would for domestic shipment Because of the size it would be about $600. Was looking at Parcel Monkey, which came in at $169, but the reviews I read are horrible. Is there slow boat cheap option out there?

    Hi Mike,

Have you tried looking for a freight consolidator? Not sure if that's as common to the middle East as to Asia but could be a lot less expensive. Ask your buyer, they may know of such vendors if they do a lot of overseas purchases/importing.

The consolidators I checked out you need to be the recipient and had to set up a shipping address then I would ship to them and they would consolidate. I forwarded this info already. Seems to have a lot of advantages to ex-pats living abroad.

Yes was about the same as Fed-ex and UPS, both more than the USPS.
