Goodwill/SA/Thrift Store Discussions & Finds

Ive been going to this thrift for years and they have been notorious for over pricing electronics.. Stopped in today and picked up a Kenwood kd-3055 turntable with grado f3+ cart for $30. This is literally the first piece of gear I have bought from this particular thrift. They had a cheapo stereo console sitting right next to it priced at $125! Lol.

The table is in good shape, and it does power on. The belt actually seems like its fairly new.
Is that one of the "granite" plinths? I've never found one but always wanted to.

Picked up a Technics SL-BD25 for $15.00 today. Nothing fancy. Black and fully auto belt driven p-mount. No cover or cart but it does appear to work. I have been looking for a starter turntable for my 15 yr old daughter and this may fill the bill. As it happens I have a brand new AT3482p cart, the one with the graphite stylus and conical needle I picked up somewhere. I have heard good things about its performance.

I have one. Simple and excellent performance on a budget.

A little GW fun today.
Minimus 25s, couple of cool Shure cartridge test albums, album and CD for $10 and some change.

I am not suppose to be buying more speakers, but who can resist?

Edit: I know this is not a music thread, but The Who BBC Sessions is now my favorite Who selection. An hour and 10 minutes of great rock!

ACI kit speakers with 4 Dynaudio dome mids, 2 focal t90i tweeters, 4 10" eclipse woofers $40

Do you know what model the ACIs are?

Denon AVR 4806, HDMI Monster & Adcom 535 L. GW $40

UPDATE: Got her home and good news is it works, here it is pared with a DVD-3910. I have a DVD-3930CI that I will probably use with it. This receiver sounds noticeably better than the AVR-3805 I swapped it with.

Sorry to bug you again VWGUY, but what kind of VW do you have? We had a '03 Passat that we loved. Sadly it was totaled.
We had the same key you have in the photo. :)

I almost never regret a sell decision but when my AVR-4806CI departed, I kicked myself. I still talk to the guy who bought it but I doubt he will give it bac
BTW, yours is the later CI version based on the top grill openings.

Actually mine is the 4806 not the CI version
