I *love* this thread just like it is.

Yesterday was a good day at Goodwill. Vintage Pyrex, a couple of nice LPs and three type II tapes, it’s been getting harder to find those in the wild around here in last couple of years. $19.99 for the Grado SR60i!

The non-audio posts are really getting out-of-control lately. I don't come here to see pictures of watches, pots and pans, and jackets.
Evidently other people do. I got 17 likes for a post on a Seiko watch this month and 10 for a post on motorcycle jackets at the end of November. A few days ago, someone's Le Creuset pan got 9 likes. You got 2 likes for this complaint. That's a pretty good demonstration of where the sentiments are on this thread. They seem pretty definitely on the side of watches, pots and pans, and jackets.

oh yeah....behind the dishes..the Bose 301 series IV I found the week before Christmas $20 for the pair. They’re in very good condition and sound great.

All the items in my last few posts have been Goodwill scores. The mom n pop shops haven’t been keeping up with Goodwills these last few weeks.

More good stuff. Pyrex is great for amassing virtual money to spend on audio. That's how I built my collection.

IMG_20190118_111206.jpg IMG_20190118_111106.jpg Longines COSD watch. Meant for paratroopers on D-Day, the watches were not yet ready. Instead, they were used for Operation Market Garden which seized the bridges over the Rhine. Sadly, this first use exposed a major design flaw. The radium paint on the dials lost adhesion when subjected to the shock of a parachutist landing, gumming up the clockworks. The paratroopers landed with non-functioning watches. The COSD watches were redialed, and in the late 1940s, most were sold off to the new Indian Army. This is a very big watch for the period and a replica (more of a tribute watch, actually) has recently been made by Longines.

Did you find one of these recently at a thrift? If so, that's insane.

I enjoy seeing all sorts of finds in here.

Audio stuff seems few and far between here. But I did find a set of AR 2AX. My first set of AR's. They work, but probably need a recap. I haven't looked into that yet for parts, or how to even get in them, the grills are stuck/stapled or glued on.
