Birds - Post 'em up

Anyone recognize what this little guy is?

He was in my yard chirping and singing away for several days probably looking for a mate. Never heard another one. Has disappeared now.

Just a guess but by the tail feathers I would say it is some type of a Wren. They do have a nice song for such a small bird.

I think you're right. Possibly a Bewick's Wren, judging from the tail and racing stripe over the eye. Probably a juvi.

BTW, I love your parrot!

Another batch of fuzzballs hits the deck!

Someone forgot to tell mama Muskovy that spring has sprung already...

...first showing on the deck since hatched! Wish I had a better camera.

Here's an odd bird you won't see everyday (unless you live in Africa). Shot at our local zoo.

This is an Abyssinian Ground Hornbill.

This guy was fun to watch. He would wait patiently next to the hay bail.

Then, seeing his quarry would pounce...

Then he would dash triumphantly across the compound, taking his prize to his mate who was lounging comfortably under the cool of a shade tree (no pics of her, sorry).

Whupped? Yeah.

A bit better pic of this strange creature.

Sorry some of these pics are so crappy. Blame a bright sun and very long zoom.
