Bit the bullet on a VOX ssc-33 .... just had to.

Been reading tons of positives and toying with purchase. Neck weight finish, looks like fret board needs lube perhaps pot lube. but I fell in love with it. Decent price as more used were couple yards more than 299+45 shipping. plus this one was the tea burst. Indonesia? my squier strat has an equitable finish, too.

That looks a fun guitar Binkman. How does it play and sound, or haven't you received it yet? Is the extra toggle for splitting one of the humbuckers?

Thanks JohnMac;
Haven't played yet as I'm in the hospital {grrrr} nursing my pancreas. This stay has given me time to look around and consider things { aside from hospital}. I like ss vintage but sales are nil in my area. Ran across the Vox ad and it said "Quit looking for a les paul and buy this." so after considering I did.... has both switches and the ad read switch effect but read some comments theirs didn't .?? Just have to see. If no joy, I read others who said may be wire. Anyway. very few negs. vrs positive. Only other complaint was no case & output. But yes many sais fun to play and comfortable. I'll let you know :D

Further in rethinking and interests, reading on Gibson demises here on ak plus looking at the myriad of guitars out there including china fakes and how far they will go? (I'll write a short experience in a new thread.) ===========>>> after reading on custom tele builders who make it a point to keep the tele the basic core design intact. Led me to starting http://audiokarma.org/forums/index.php?threads/telecaster-project-building-two.820624/

Perhaps you'll chime in John and others....I'm not building from scratch but more of selecting and assembly from existing suppliers.

Very nice quality on the Vox ssc33. Finger board needed some cleaning and linseed oil, frets have lots of life.. took out two minor fret bumps polished and adjusted neck a tad, new strings. After being off for a while my finger tips went soft.. but plays pretty nice. As you can see the wiring appears to be more than standard
https://www.guitarplayer.com/miscellaneous/vox-ssc-33 explains p90 sound and wiring.

For me to interpret on only my marshall tube-state sounds for me to describe I haven't punched it and getting used to it. Might tune to e-flat and see. have a few things like line6 and some boxes I'm messing with.
