Just that yes it stands for Biggs of California and apparently was started by an associate of Sherwood or maybe even Macintosh (I cant remember) so.... kind of a knock off but a good knock off was kind of my thinking. Probably makes them rarer as far as numbers go but I haven’t found anyone raving about them but then again it has been a while since I looked.

Also look up George Gott as some of their amps are rebadged Biggs of California .i have a pair of George Gott g50d mono amplifiers that have b.o.c on them

So, it's been a while; have you done anything with the amp?
I have not. I hooked up a record player to it for a while and it sounded great. I immediately recognized the “warm” sound that people refer to but it was a little muffled. Some of the tubes were dimmer than others and I assume need to be replaced. I put it in storage for now as I have other stereo projects going on. Also I have kids and cats. What is the best way to protect tube tech if you use it? How do you keep an amp out while still being safe? I see that some have a vented box around them. If you do t have one do people make them?

the visible brightness of tubes has nothing to do with how good they are. Its just how far the heater pokes up through the cathode sleeve. More likely it needs caps and other stuff updated.

Best I can suggest is put it somewhere that the cat can't lay on it and the kids can't reach it until they are are old enough to know to leave it be. Having neither children nor felines its not something I've ever had to fuss with. My dogs leave the stereo gear alone.

Thank you, good to know. I’ll update this as time goes by. Stay well out there.
