I have 2 2200's - that is what I think about them.
Power and nice sound in a simple package.
Put up a little surround system - ALL KEF speakers (except the sub). They are Q-15's and a KEF center channel. The sub is a 3 cu. ft. PE cabinet stuffed with 4 lbs of fiberfill using a Titanic 1200 driver and a 250 watt plate amp (it rattles the walls ). Power is by an old Sony STR-1000ES receiver.
using Pinpoint AM-40 brackets on the speakers and a shelf on top of the screen.
This sub is HUGE!!
Moved to a new house in Ann Arbor, MI and playing around with speakers in the living room. This is the current system.
Speakers are Monitor Audio MA3 series 2, Amp is a Sony TA-N55ES, Emotiva USP-1 pre, Cambridge Audio Universal Disc player, and an old Kenwood KD-3055 TT.
Is that a Maggie toob amp, wrapped in Fiddleback Maple, I spy in yonder pictures?
A friend in MA rebuilt it (Markus - where are you?) and did the veneering - yes it is a maggie tube amp - it doesn't get used much currently.
A new little system put in a spare bedroom for casual listening - love it so far.
Pre-amp - Kenwood Basic C-1
Amp - Mitsubishi DA-A10DC
Source - Rotel RDV-1080
Speakers - Rega R3's
Wires (speaker) - MIT EXP-2 10 ft cables
I also had this set up in the room also
Amp - Bow Technologies Wazoo Integrated
Source - Cambridge Audio DVD89
Speakers - Sonus Faber Venere 1.5's (and various other speakers)
I might try the Venere's with the Mitsu amp this way....
My office - bot cave the way it is today.
I bet you get a lot of work done in that playground...err office.
cubdog, that is only a few of the speakers in that space.
Are those vertical speakers (the ones in the foreground) the kit-built ones that were at AKFest 2012? If so, they sounded gorgeous.
Yes they were - good ol' Tang Band kit.
I've heard those Monitor Audio speakers.
Been searching for a pair ever since.
they are hard to find. Talk about a rare bird of a speaker. Even in England they are rare.
I love those oblong drivers in your speakers, even if it makes them look like The Invisible Monster from Jonny Quest. Hell, that's probably why I like them!
Lots of cool speakers!
The Eaton woofers are different it is a pulp fiber/aluminum cone woofer. The cabinets are carved out of MDF.
who knew that 220 WPC amp would make some little single drivers sound so good .
Also got an Adcom GFP-565 preamp I am using now - it is much better than the Kenwood Basic C1 I have and it is no slouch. Listed is the spec sheet for the special Tang Band driver. I really could imagine a bigger cabinet for this driver.
damn and i thought u were joking when ur calling urself a hoarder
You haven't seen anything That is just a small part of the heard, I mean hoard :lmao:
Hello Bot, are those the Royd from Telford Shropshire up the road from me?
