A friend has a pair of 901's.
One produces no sound at all. The other is perfect.
The previous owner said a driver was blown.
Well, I find this hard to believe, considering the design.

Im thinking something in the crossover, or maybe these things are fused...? Anyone have an idea...?

He said he's tried to get into them, and there is no way.
Well...I'm sure there is...

Anyway, your advice please.

Odds are there is one open "blown" driver. They are wired in series, so when one opens, the music stops. There is no crossover inside. The external EQ did all that. The covers are stapled on, so you will need to do a little prying to get them off. Then hopefully they are cloth surrounds, otherwise it will take a bit of time to refoam the 18 drivers (9 per cabinet - eight in back and one in front.)

Yes I've already done this. ;)
