Build Quality of Technics SL-1300??

I am considering a 1300 as my first decent turntable in about 15yrs, but wanted to ask some owners about the build quality, compared to, say, the 1200's.

I have never owned a 1200, but I have played with them in stores and know the tonearm bearings are smooth, the buttons are solid, the motor is great, the platter is decently weighted and damped, plinth is heavy, etc etc. So I'd love to have the input of board members regarding the SL-1300, both positive and negative.

Having owned Technics tables, SP-15 SP-25 SL-1200Mk2 SL-1300Mk2 and examined other Technics models the build quality is excellent up and down the line showing a high level of quality control. If well cared for you wont be disappointed with the SL-1300, should be numerous threads/posts re the table if you do an AK Google search.

Agreed!! I have an SL-1400 and it's built like a tank, as was my SL-1301. You will not be disappointed

I have an SL1300 and several other mid-grade DD Technics 'tables. I'm very happy with all of them, especially considering their age.
