CA 840c repair or Marantz SA8005?

That Cambridge CD player has to be 10 years old or so. If you can even find someone to fix it, you will have to hold onto it until it finally dies. I would trade up to something new like the Marantz.

I'm a big fan of the SA8005, and have been very impressed with the sound quality, especially at price point. The BIG vote for me though, is that this is the least expensive player in current production that's still built in Japan- the Marantz Reference production line this is built on gets a bit more attention to detail than most!

Great sounding player, and the internal DAC feature is a nice touch- not only good for your spinning discs, but can be used for USB audio and other stereo digital sources as well

Good to see ya posting again, redcoates7.

I have the older Marantz SA8001. It's been a good player for me over the years.
