I have a lot of FLAC files on my local server that I'd like to be able to play on my hifi setup without the need to keep a running computer to do so. DAC's wont let you do that, so a network player is what I ended up searching for. So far the Cambridge Audio CXN came up as one of the best models but its rather expensive. Here in Canada its around $1100USD. Ouch.
Are any of you familiar with Cambridge Audio's product? Are their DAC's and overall quality generally worth it? Are any of you owners of a CXN or older gen network player from CA?
I have auditioned the CXN at a local store but the source was a simple MP3, but it sounded great. Are there network players out there with equivalent quality (DAC included) that could be worthwhile to look into?
Cheers
