Carver amp?

Local CL has a Carver TFM 35X amp for sale at $250. 10 years old. If it's in good condition is this a fair price? Does anyboby own carver amps and what is the general opinion of them? btw: 250 wpc, THX certified. Thanks for any input.

If in good working order, and clean, by all means grab it. A fine powerful amp, and it has those bouncy meter thingies! Think about it this way, you will be paying 50 cents per watt. The TFM-35x was my main amp until I bought my Sunfire 300, and I made money when I sold it. It drove a set of Bose 501's and large Avents simultaneously and never broke a sweat.

The lower-powered 15 has been selling between $175 and $250 on average, off the 'bay, and then you need to add shipping too.

I think it's a fair price, if not a bit better than fair.

I'd love to own a Carver. But it's a bit ruch for my wallet.
