CD Transport Belt Source

All:

Where is a good source for CD transport drive belts? The Denon DCD 660 I brought back to life has a transport belt very worn and loose. Still opens the door/holder, but barely. Thanks for any leads.

www.mcmelectronics.com has generic replacement belts. You need to measure the old belt: to get the IC (inner circumference) stretch the belt out between two pencil points next to a ruler until there is no slack. take this measurement and multiply by 2 to get the IC. Measure the cross section (thickness.) when you order, get a belt that is slightly smaller to take the stretching into account. They charge $.50 each for these beltsso you may have to order some other stuff to make minimum billing, though someone told me if you order online there is no minimum. still they will charge you $5.00 or so for shipping so you might as well order enough to make it worth while. They have De-Oxit, all kinds of parts, books, test cables, you ought to be able to find something useful. They are also a Denon parts distributor, so if you know the part number for the belt you could buy the original part.
