I am trying to use an android tablet as a media player via an OTG cable to a usb DAC. I am currently using a Nexus 7 into an Fiio E10K DAC. This actually is working fine until the battery runs down on the tablet.
I am wanting to connect a usb charger at the same time. I have tried plugging a usb hub into the OTG cable , and the DAC is plugged into the hub (thinking I could feed power from a usb charger into that too). The power light on the DAC comes on but the tablet does not seem to see it through the hub. Audio continues to play via the internal speaker of the tablet.
Seeking advice on if, and how, I might achieve this, that is - running the tablet to the DAC for audio, and getting charging power into the tablet at the same time, to stop it running the battery down.
