cleaning stereo case

Hi,

First make sure it is real wood, not simulated one. For example, my Tu-S9 has simulated vineer. Simulated wood can be claeaned as plastics (e.g. windex)

When you are sure that the vineer is real wood, you may treat it like furniture.

BEAR IN MIND that vineer can be paper thin.

If scratched, use lemon oil to wet very fine steel wool (the finest you can find) and brush ALONG the wood grains. Then use lemon oil (or orange oil based product) on the entiire case.

DO NOT use too much oil because it may make vineer peel off. The less is more, repeat several times over the course og the week if needed.

If there are some very deep scratches fill them with special wax pen (Sold in Home Depot for $2-3). Try to match the vineer closely.

If the case in top shape, no scratches, perhaps the best approach is to use bee wax product sold in Hardware Restoration. It is awesome on walnut vineer.
