Connecting a Budgie to Marantz 4140 quad-need help!

This is my first attempt at integrating tubes into my system for vinyl playback. I am not having success in connecting a Budgie phono tube preamp to my Quad Marantz. Tried a few connections like taking the input from the Budgie to the Tape Out on back of amp, and am getting no sound. Can someone please tell me what the correct connection would be from the Budgie input to the back of this Marantz? I do not use the amp for quad at the present time...always for 2 channel stereo. Is there something special with connections that is required because this is Quad? Please help!

With a phono stage you have a regular line signal, so use Aux, or one of the Tape Ins, and you should be fine. (I'm not a quad guy, so maybe the tape stuff is different. Aux in should be golden...)

use the front inputs AUX

also if you havent already done so set the power mode switch in the rear to 2 channel if you arent using quad that will give you 70 wpc. nice amp love mine but i use it for quad.
