Cork under turntable?

I have some 2" thick sheets of cork and some 4" thick sheets of cork. I was thinking about using them as a kind of damping for a base to set my turntables on.

Would anyone think that 4" is going to do any different than 2"? Do you think that cork would work well for this?

Thanks for any input.

Well I dont Know.....It's an idea...go ahead and give it a try...just make shure that everythings level and kosher .....

try it with a couple different sizes ...and let us know what you think....Ya never know...it might work!!!:)

i think it might be best sandwiched with something rigid and heavy, like thick glass, or perhaps granite, or maybe a double layer of mdf. put the cork in between the two sheets of whatever-- also, it occurs to me, you don't want similar materials in the sandwich, so as to have different resonance frequencies, which together cancel each other out-- so, maybe granite/cork/glass, or something along those lines?
