Counterfeit cartridges - how common?

Actually I just got off the phone with audio-technica. They were very helpful, I sent photos of the packaging and the cartridge. They confirmed it was their product and then thanked me for bringing the discrepancy on the diagram from the cartridge.

Here are the photos I sent. I was suprised that I couldn't find anything on the internet regarding this discrepancy.

IMHO, if you take hamburger and call it "replacement for steak", it doesn't matter if it's really good hamburger at a really good price -- it's still not steak.

Actually, if it's ground round or ground chuck, it is steak.
